How to Submit Updates from the Field

A step-by-step guide for sending reports, photos, and prayer requests from the mission field.

Your updates from the field are vital! They keep supporters connected to God's work, inspire prayer, encourage giving, and help the ministry share what He is doing through you. Even a short update with a photo can make a powerful impact.

How to Send Your Update

Follow these simple steps to submit your update from anywhere in the world.

1

Write Your Update

Write a short summary of what God is doing on the field. Include highlights, testimonies, answered prayers, or challenges. Keep it between 3–10 sentences. You can write in English, Russian, or Spanish — we will translate as needed.

2

Take Photos

Include 3–10 high-quality photos that tell the story of your work. Photos of ministry in action, people you serve, your team, and the community are the most impactful. See the photo guidelines below.

3

Include Prayer Requests

List 2–5 specific prayer requests so supporters can pray with you. Be specific: instead of "pray for the ministry," say "pray for the 12 women in our Bible study who are seeking Christ."

4

How Often?

We recommend sending updates at least once a month. During active mission trips, send daily or every few days so we can share your journey in real-time with supporters. The more consistent you are, the more engaged your support team stays.

Photo Guidelines

Good photos make your updates come alive. Here's what works best.

Photos We Can Use

  • Clear, well-lit photos (natural light is best)
  • Photos of ministry in action — teaching, serving, building, praying
  • Group photos with your team and the people you serve
  • Photos showing the community and environment
  • Horizontal (landscape) orientation when possible
  • Original size — do not compress or resize before sending

Photos to Avoid

  • Blurry, dark, or out-of-focus images
  • Screenshots from social media or messaging apps
  • Photos with heavy filters or text overlays
  • Selfies only — mix in action and group shots
  • Photos that could compromise someone's safety
  • Photos of documents, passports, or sensitive information

Tips for Sending Updates from the Field

📷
Take photos every day. Don't wait until the end of the trip. Capture moments as they happen — you'll forget details later.
📝
Write notes daily. Even a few bullet points each evening will help you remember stories and details when you write your full update.
📶
Low internet? If Wi-Fi is slow, send your text update first via Telegram or email. Then send photos one or two at a time when you have a better connection. You can also save updates offline and send when you reach Wi-Fi.
🔒
Safety first. In sensitive regions, do not share specific location details, full names of local contacts, or photos that could put anyone at risk. Ask your team leader if you're unsure.
🌏
Language doesn't matter. Write in whatever language is easiest for you — English, Russian, or Spanish. Our team will translate your update for all audiences.
📹
Short videos are welcome! A 30–60 second video greeting or clip of ministry in action is powerful. Send via Telegram or email (under 50MB). We can share it on social media and our website.
